In a powerful display of frustration, protesters converged in the Mokola area of Ibadan, the state capital, brandishing placards and raising voices against food inflation, petrol subsidy removal, and the overall high cost of living plaguing their daily existence.
With slogans like ‘End food hike and inflation’ and ‘The poor are starving’, the youth demonstrators voiced their grievances, demanding immediate action to alleviate their suffering.
Despite the peaceful nature of the rally, armed police officers monitored the situation closely, underscoring the gravity of the citizens’ concerns.
Amidst the unrest, Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed confidence in the leadership of Bola Tinubu, asserting that Nigeria is on the path to resurgence under his administration. Shettima, speaking at a recent event, emphasized the need for collective effort and collaboration to steer the nation towards a brighter future despite the prevailing economic challenges.
