regarding the state of affairs in Nigeria.

Badenoch recently accused the Nigerian police of robbing citizens, sharing an incident where she claimed her brother’s shoes and watch were stolen by officers who were meant to protect him.

However, during an appearance on ireporteronline, Pastor Adegboyega, whose church was recently shut down by the UK government for alleged mismanagement of £1.87 million, refuted her claims. He argued that such issues are not unique to Nigeria, citing similar problems in the UK, including 78,000 bags and phones being snatched between 2023 and 2024 alone.

The pastor emphasized that the UK, which has a significant Nigerian black community, also faces severe social issues, such as the overrepresentation of young black people in prisons and mental health facilities, compared to schools.

Adegboyega continued, “We live on the street and understand what’s going on. There are challenges everywhere, including in the UK, and we can’t ignore our history. While we admit Nigeria has its struggles, it is not all doom and gloom.”

He criticized those who speak negatively of Nigeria while overlooking the similar issues in the UK, stressing that many Nigerians in the UK have fought hard to overcome adversity and pave the way for black representation in key positions.
