PDP And APC Accuse Each Other Of Plotting To Hijack Ondo Governorship Poll

PDP’s Allegations:

• The PDP, via its Publicity Secretary Kennedy Peretei, accused APC leaders of planning to manipulate the election.
• Peretei claimed that APC had submitted lists of their members to INEC as Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers for each polling unit, despite their lack of official training.
• The PDP also renewed its call for the transfer of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, alleging bias by Ondo APC Chairman Ade Adetimehin.

APC’s Response:

• APC’s Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, denied the accusations, stating that APC has no reason to interfere with the election and has worked extensively across Ondo’s 18 local government areas.
• Kalejaye dismissed the PDP’s claims as baseless, asserting that APC’s strategy is to win through campaigning, not manipulation.

• The PDP Campaign Council’s Director-General, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, further accused APC of recruiting thugs from neighboring states to disrupt voting.
• Kalejaye countered, reaffirming APC’s commitment to a fair process and attributing the allegations to PDP’s “fabrications.”
