PDP Members Dump Party For APC

Mai Mala Buni, the governor of Yobe State, has received over 250 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state’s Fune local government area.

When he received the decampees, Gov. Buni, who was represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, described the development as a major setback for the opposition.

He assured the newcomers that the party would treat them equally with other members, stating that the “APC believes in one united Nigeria, contrary to the PDP.”

In his remarks, Mohammed Gadaka, the state party chairman, congratulated the defectors on their decision to join the ruling APC and urged members of other political parties in the state to follow suit in order to move the state forward.

Mallan Iliyasu Adamu Jilum, a former PDP executive member in Fune local government who spoke on behalf of the defectors, said their decision to switch loyalties couldn’t have come at a better time.

“We dumped our former party because of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s transparent leadership”, Jilum declared.
