PDP Pillar In Abuja, Alhaji Gwagwa, Dies; Atiku Expresses Deep Sorrow

issued by his media office on Monday, Atiku described Gwagwa as a pivotal figure and a strong supporter of the PDP.

“Atiku stated, ‘Alhaji Gwagwa will always be remembered as a cornerstone of our party’s history. His legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the sacrifices made by those who helped establish the PDP.’”

The 2023 PDP presidential candidate further highlighted the lessons to be learned from Gwagwa’s life, particularly his dedication to patriotism and community leadership. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the PDP family in both the FCT and the national party body, praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul in Aljannah Firdaus.

Additionally, Atiku shared that he had been unable to celebrate his 70th birthday due to the loss of several family members within the same year. He revealed that he had lost two younger brothers, his father, and his uncle. This was disclosed during a thanksgiving service at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Cathedral of Unity in Wuse, Zone 3, in honor of the 80th birthday of Onyema Ugochukwu, former chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Atiku reflected on being the first among his siblings to reach the age of 70 and acknowledged God’s faithfulness in his life, promising to continue serving both God and humanity with renewed commitment.
