“PDP’s Governors Unite In Zamfara As National Convention Approaches”

Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are poised to hold a crucial meeting ahead of the party’s National Elective Convention, which is scheduled for November in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to iReporter Online, a reliable source within the PDP National Working Committee revealed that the PDP Governors’ Forum will convene this weekend in Gusau, Zamfara State, to deliberate on key issues ahead of the convention.

The governors are expected to arrive in Gusau on Friday, with the main meeting slated for Saturday.

The discussions, according to iReporter Online, will primarily focus on ensuring the smooth conduct of the convention set for November 15 and 16.

The source noted, “The party leaders—that is, governors, Board of Trustees, National Working Committee, and others—are fully aware of the importance of the Ibadan Convention, which is crucial to the future of the PDP.”

While most governors have agreed to seek political solutions to ongoing disputes, they are also prepared to employ the party’s mechanisms to enforce decisions if necessary.

According to iReporter Online, the source expressed confidence that all factions within the PDP will eventually unite to ensure the success of the Ibadan convention.

“I am confident that our leaders, especially the governors, have resolved to prioritize political solutions where needed to guarantee that the Ibadan Convention proceeds as planned. They are also ready to enforce decisions through the party’s structures if required.”

“With this approach, our leaders will cooperate fully, the Ibadan Convention will take place as scheduled, and the PDP will position itself to rescue Nigeria from the ineffectiveness of the All Progressives Congress in 2027,” he added.
