Pere Egbi Shares Final Conversation He Had With Alex Ekubo Before His Death

According to Ireporter Online, former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi, has emotionally recounted his final conversation with Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo before news of his passing broke, describing the moment as one that now carries deeper meaning.

Pere, in a heartfelt post shared on social media, said he had an earlier inner prompting months before to reach out to Alex simply to check on him and offer prayers. He noted that the recent development had left him shocked and reflective, adding that the exchange they shared now feels significant in hindsight.

Screenshots of their direct messages showed that Pere reached out on August 11 to ask how Alex was doing. Alex reportedly responded on August 15, assuring that he was fine and also inquiring about Pere and his family. Pere replied that he was in the United States working and expressed happiness at hearing from him, while also emphasizing the importance of checking on loved ones because life is fleeting.

The conversation between both men later shifted into prayers, with Alex asking for divine protection over Pere, while Pere also offered prayers in return. Alex eventually concluded the exchange by appreciating Pere for reaching out and thanking him for the gesture.

Reacting to the development, Pere wrote in part, “Jesus… this one hurts. I had the nudge to reach out to you months ago… life is short. Please check on people while you still can. Rest well, my brother Alex.”

He further urged the public to prioritize checking on friends and loved ones more often, stressing that such moments can become priceless with time.
