Obi hailed the election as a significant triumph for democracy and applauded the political maturity demonstrated by Ghana’s leaders throughout the process. He praised the peaceful conduct of the election and the country’s commitment to upholding democratic values.

In a statement released on Sunday, the former governor of Anambra State encouraged Mahama to focus on transformative projects that will drive the nation’s development. Obi expressed hope that Mahama’s leadership would lead to substantial improvements in crucial sectors, such as education, healthcare, and poverty reduction, fostering greater unity and progress across Africa.

“Your Excellency, Mr. President-elect John Mahama, I offer my heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved victory,” Obi said. “Your win reflects the democratic ideals and political maturity that our continent desperately needs. Ghana’s commitment to peaceful transitions is a beacon of hope for Africa.”

Mahama, who previously served as President of Ghana from July 2012 to January 2017 and as Vice President from 2009 to 2012, will now lead the nation once again after securing the electoral victory.
