Photos: Atiku, David Mark Storm Osun For ADC Mega Campaign Rally
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s National Leader, David Mark, have arrived in Osun State ahead of the party’s final campaign rally for the August 15, 2026, governorship election.
According to IREPORTERONLINE, Atiku and Mark departed Abuja on Monday as the ADC intensified its mobilisation efforts ahead of Saturday’s poll.
The campaign rally is expected to further strengthen the party’s push for its governorship candidate, Najeem Salam, who is among the major contenders in the election.
Salam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, served as Speaker between 2011 and 2015 before returning to the position in 2017 and remaining in office until 2019.
The election has also attracted significant attention due to the contest involving incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Adeleke is seeking another term in office after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amid internal leadership disputes and divisions within the party.
His decision to join the Accord Party has, however, attracted criticism from some political analysts.
Former Special Adviser to the Senate President and public affairs analyst, Kenny Okolugbo, recently argued that Adeleke’s defection could affect his chances of securing re-election.
Speaking on Arise Television, Okolugbo said the continued presence of the PDP on the ballot could make it difficult for Adeleke to retain all the votes he previously secured under the party.
He also argued that joining the ADC could have offered Adeleke a stronger political platform against the APC.
With the final campaign activities now underway, the major political parties are expected to intensify their efforts to win over undecided voters and mobilise supporters across Osun State before the election.
