Portable Warns Olamide: ‘Don’t Mess With Me’ Over Blacklisting Claims

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has expressed his anger at veteran rapper Olamide and several top music industry figures following reports that he was allegedly blacklisted.

According to industry sources, the controversy emerged after influencer Tunde Perry claimed to have attended a meeting in which top music executives reportedly decided to blacklist Portable due to alleged misconduct in the industry. Perry added that Portable’s behavior not only affected his own standing but also influenced the willingness of established artists and executives to support emerging talent.

Perry further noted that Olamide is now reportedly hesitant to assist upcoming artists, citing his experience with Portable, who allegedly criticized him despite receiving support for his breakthrough track, ‘Zazu Zeh.’

Responding to the claims in a video posted on social media, Portable directly addressed Tunde Perry, Olamide, and the executives, insisting that he does not require their endorsement to succeed in the music industry. He asserted that his fan base alone is sufficient to secure his prominence, claiming he has surpassed the influence of those who attempted to blacklist him.

Portable stated, “I have my own fans. I am bigger than any person. Anyone who wants to help you shouldn’t stress you. Don’t use past assistance to pressure me. Many have supported me without stress. Why would you say my songs shouldn’t be played again? Olamide, don’t mess with me. If you mess with me, I will return the energy. Stay on your own lane.”
