President Tinubu Appoints Olatunji Bello As New CEO Of FCCPC

This directive follows peaceful protests by military veterans at the Federal Ministry of Finance two days prior, as reported by ireporteronline.
Confirming the President’s directives in a statement released on Friday, Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, praised Tinubu for his swift action.
Matawalle acknowledged the President’s role in ensuring the timely distribution of a three-month salary increase and addressing the outstanding pension arrears and benefits owed to retired military members.
The statement from Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, confirmed that military personnel have already received notifications regarding their salary increases.
The Minister commended President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of both active and retired military personnel, emphasizing the government’s dedication to resolving pension arrears and improving the living conditions of those who have served the nation.
Matawalle also acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, for ensuring the effective distribution of the necessary funds.
He urged the Nigerian military to maintain their commitment to their responsibilities, reaffirming the President’s resolve to boost morale and provide essential support in combating insecurity throughout the country.
“Despite initial challenges, rest assured that Mr. President is committed to supporting our military forces as they tackle the issues of insecurity,” he remarked.
Highlighting the crucial role of the Nigerian military in addressing insurgency, terrorism, and various criminal activities, Matawalle reiterated the government’s commitment to overcoming insecurity.
He concluded by assuring the Armed Forces of President Tinubu’s steadfast support and dedication to enhancing their readiness and resilience in protecting the nation.
