with journalists in Lagos, George criticized a key figure for manipulating the party apparatus, driven by the personal goal of becoming Nigeria’s president, rather than prioritizing the party’s unity.
George also expressed disapproval of how party affairs were managed under former National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu. Despite these challenges, George remained optimistic about the party’s future, asserting that the PDP would resolve its internal issues in time for the 2027 general elections.
Emphasizing the importance of justice, equity, and fairness, George reiterated his support for the principle of rotational leadership between the North and South, which is enshrined in the PDP constitution. He stated, “Our party is built on the principles of zoning and rotation, which ensure stability and fairness.”
George reflected on the party’s founding values, stating that personal ambitions had recently destabilized the party. He urged a return to these guiding principles to restore harmony and success in the future.
