Presidential Election Largely Flawed And Must Be Challenged – Atiku
Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has stated that last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections were largely flawed and should be challenged.
Atiku, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of shattering Nigerians’ dreams and aspirations through the conduct of the elections.
“Having consulted with leaders of our party who are seated here with me and Nigerians from different walks of life, I have come to the conclusion that the processes and outcome of the presidential and national elections on Saturday was grossly flawed by every single material and as such, must be challenged by all of us,” Atiku said in Abuja.

He stated that the 2023 presidential election provided Nigeria and Nigerians with an opportunity for a fresh start, but that INEC “failed woefully.” Both local and international observers, according to Atiku, have attested to the electoral umpire’s failure.
The PDP flag bearer wondered why the electoral umpire was in a haste to declare the result of the election, calling the process “a rape of democracy”.
Atiku believes that this is not the legacy that the Buhari administration wishes to leave for Nigerians, and that it is not too late for Buhari to change his mind.
Atiku, who stated that last Saturday’s election was not about him but about the future of Nigerian youths, urged the youths to conduct themselves well.
