FIFA Taps Davido For 2026 World Cup Countdown Concert In Los Angeles
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian music superstar Davido has been officially confirmed as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s 2026 World Cup Countdown Concert scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, marking yet another major global recognition for the award-winning Afrobeats icon.
The announcement was made by FIFA on Tuesday, revealing that Davido will share the stage with internationally renowned electronic music group Major Lazer, led by American DJ Diplo, at the high-profile event billed for June 10 at the Crypto.com Arena.
The concert forms part of FIFA’s newly launched synchronized global entertainment series, which will run across the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup—Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The governing body also indicated that additional artistes are expected to be announced ahead of the event.
FIFA described the Los Angeles edition as a major cultural showcase, stating that the night will feature performances from Major Lazer and Davido in what is expected to be a fusion of music, football, and global entertainment.
The organization confirmed that the event will hold at the Crypto.com Arena, with doors scheduled to open at 5:00 p.m. PT, while the live broadcast is set to commence one hour later.
Speaking on the initiative, FIFA’s Manolo Zubiria noted that the Countdown Concert series is designed to celebrate unity, passion, and cultural connection across the host nations and the wider global football community.
He added that the Los Angeles concert, coming just days before the opening match in the United States, is expected to deliver a world-class entertainment experience, bringing together top-tier talent in one of the world’s most iconic entertainment cities.
Ticket sales for the event are scheduled to begin on June 3 at 10:00 a.m. PST, while FIFA also confirmed that the concert will be streamed globally across its digital platforms, including a special live broadcast on TikTok. Full coverage and behind-the-scenes content will also be made available the following day on VuMe Live.
