As of Monday, Team Edo stood fourth with a total of 68 medals—12 gold, 32 silver, and 24 bronze—and is poised to secure more as many athletes have qualified for the final stages in various events.

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Amadin Enabulele, praised the team for their discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the festival. Enabulele, in a statement issued by his media aide, Wilson Edoko, highlighted that the festival provided a valuable opportunity for Team Edo to build friendships and strengthen their performance ahead of the National Sports Festival in May, set to take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

“The event has been an excellent platform for Team Edo to foster unity, showcase their skills, and identify areas for improvement. More importantly, it has allowed us to prepare a strong team for the upcoming National Sports Festival,” said Enabulele.

Team Edo has continued to perform strongly in several sports including athletics, aquatics, boxing, football, para-athletics, and swimming.

The festival features over 3,400 athletes from the nine NigerDelta states.
