Track Sensation: Annabelle Fasuba Breaks 49-Year-Old Record In Historic Victory

With a remarkable time of 11.91 seconds, she surpassed the previous record set in 1976 by Jill Davies, placing her in the UK’s top 10 female sprinters for the year.

The 13-year-old also broke her own City of Plymouth U-15 record and further impressed with a strong 40.88-second performance in the 300m, setting another new record. Fasuba’s father, a former African champion, praised his daughter’s outstanding achievements, calling her a rising star with a bright future in athletics.

In May 2024, Annabelle gained recognition by setting two UK records in the U-15 Girls’ 100m and 200m in a single week. Her father, Fasuba, who won the African Championships in 2004, and was part of the Nigerian 4x100m relay team that won a bronze medal at the Athens 2004 Olympics, expressed his pride in his daughter’s success.
