Remi Tinubu Pays Condolence Visit To Saraki Family Over Ojora’s Death
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has disclosed that the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, paid a condolence visit to his family following the passing of his father-in-law, Otunba Adekunle Ojora.
According to Ireporter Online, Saraki made the disclosure in a statement shared via his verified social media platform, noting that the First Lady visited as the family continued to receive sympathisers. He described the visit as an honour and expressed appreciation for the show of support during the period of mourning.
Saraki stated that the gesture, alongside numerous prayers, messages and personal visits from well-wishers, had provided significant comfort to his mother-in-law, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, his wife, Toyin Saraki, and the wider family. He emphasized that the outpouring of solidarity had strengthened them in the face of their loss.
The Ojora family had earlier announced that the Olori Omo Oba of Lagos, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, died on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93. In a statement issued by Toyin Saraki, the family said the respected businessman passed away in submission to the will of Almighty Allah and appealed to the public to remember him in prayers.
The late industrialist was laid to rest according to Islamic rites on January 29, 2026, at Ikoyi Vault in Lagos, following Janazah prayers led by the Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaiman Abou-Nolla. The burial ceremony was attended by Islamic clerics, family members and several dignitaries.
An eighth-day Fidau prayer and reception were subsequently held on February 5, 2026, at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Victoria Island, drawing prominent personalities from across the country.
President Bola Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo had earlier conveyed their condolences, describing the deceased as a distinguished industrialist, accomplished businessman and committed community leader whose legacy would endure.
