Olabisi, Dikko highlighted the importance of grassroots sports development.

With the slogan “Yes! To School Sports,” Dikko emphasized a collaborative approach between the NSC and NSSF to improve school sports programs nationwide. Discussions focused on building partnerships, enhancing infrastructure, and fostering greater student participation in athletics.

Dikko’s ambitious plans align with the Federal Government’s increased investment in the sports sector. The 2025 fiscal year budget includes a 227% rise in funding, increasing from ₦29.08 billion in 2024 to ₦94.95 billion in 2025. This boost will support the construction of 100 mini-stadiums nationwide to nurture young talent and advance grassroots sports.

House of Representatives Committee on Sports Chairman, Kabiru Amadu, praised President Bola Tinubu for the substantial funding increase, calling it a transformative move for Nigeria’s sports development. “This remarkable budgetary allocation will elevate sports administration and management across the country,” Amadu stated.

As the NSC pushes forward, Dikko remains focused on aligning Nigeria’s sports initiatives with global best practices, ensuring that the nation’s future athletes are nurtured from the grassroots.
