Sad News: Pioneer Member Of Atiku’s Media Team Passes Away

According to Ireporter Online, the death was confirmed on Sunday in a statement issued by the Atiku media office, which described the development as a painful loss to the former Vice President and members of his media team.

The statement revealed that Izeze joined the media unit of Atiku in 2006 during his tenure as Vice President, coming from the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) located in Ikot-Abasi, where he served before taking up the role of Office Manager in the media team.

He was said to have contributed significantly to the operations of the media office at a critical period in Atiku’s political journey, bringing with him extensive knowledge of the media landscape as well as deep insight into the Niger Delta region and Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Further reports indicate that Izeze studied geology up to the postgraduate level at the University of Port Harcourt. Despite his academic background in geology, he established a strong reputation in journalism, where he covered and wrote extensively about Nigeria’s oil and gas sector for several years. His professional career included working with now-defunct publications such as Sunray, Anchor and NewAge newspapers before his move to ALSCON.

Within the Atiku Media Office, Izeze was regarded as a senior member of the team and its pioneer Office Manager. He played a notable role in shaping aspects of the media and campaign strategy for Atiku’s presidential ambitions, particularly in relation to the Niger Delta and the oil and gas sector.

Colleagues described him as a man with a remarkable sense of humour and deep spiritual commitment. A devoted Christian and member of Christ Embassy, he was also an ordained preacher affiliated with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.

The statement expressed prayers for his family, friends and associates, asking God to grant them strength during the difficult period. It also noted that funeral arrangements would be announced later by his family.

Izeze is survived by his children, grandchildren, and his elder brother, Pastor Emeka Izeze, a respected figure associated with the The Guardian Newspapers. The statement concluded with prayers for the repose of his soul and forgiveness of his sins.
