Sallah Boost! Kogi Govt Approves Immediate Payment Of March Salaries

According to Ireporter Online, the approval was granted by Ahmed Usman Ododo to enable workers in the state make adequate arrangements for the Sallah festivities.

Details of the decision were disclosed on Friday, March 13, 2026, in Lokoja through a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo.

Fanwo explained that the early payment was intended to support civil servants by helping them meet personal and family needs as the Muslim festival approaches. He noted that the decision reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare of public sector workers in the state.

The commissioner added that civil servants across Kogi have welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely support that would allow them to make proper preparations for the Sallah celebration.

Fanwo further stated that the administration of Governor Ododo remains dedicated to supporting the workforce, stressing that the government recognizes the crucial role civil servants play in delivering essential services to residents of the state.

He also reiterated the government’s resolve to continually improve the welfare and well-being of workers while they carry out their responsibilities across various sectors of the state civil service.

The commissioner extended goodwill messages to Muslims observing the fasting period, wishing them a peaceful conclusion of Ramadan and a joyful Eid al-Fitr celebration.

Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of the month-long fasting period observed by Muslims and is expected to be celebrated next Friday, subject to the sighting of the moon.
