See Reactions As Imo State Man Decides To Name His First Son Alaba Bola Tinubu

The revelation of an Imo State native regarding the reasons for naming his son after the APC presidential candidate has elicited mixed reactions. The young man, who goes by Emeka, recently married and is expecting a baby boy in October, made the announcement in his WhatsApp group, which is mostly made up of Alaba traders.

The post has triggered heated debate, with some supporting his decision and others dismissing him as a slave to Afonja (Whatever that may mean).

The genesis;

“My wife and I are expecting our first child in the third week of October, and we have decided to name him Alaba Bola Tinubu. I would like to use this medium to invite everyone on this platform to our baby shower this Saturday.”

Everyone in the group began to speak up after this invitation was dropped. “Congratulations my brother, I wish you and our coming Alaba Tinubu all the best, You were born by a king, married a queen, and may you raise a king,” one person said.

“I wonder what would make a man from Imo state married to an Ebonyi woman decide to name his first son after Tinubu. Surely you must be a slave to the Afonja’s,” another person remarked at this point.

Of course, the discussion did not come to a close without the man explaining why he chose to give his son the name of the former governor of Lagos State.

His story;

“I understand how some of my brothers feel here, but it is election season, and I believe the only way to express my gratitude to Tinubu, whom I have never met, is to name my first seed after him. Today, I am who I am because of the foundations Tinubu laid for Lagos State for all tribes to thrive my father left Imo State when I was a little boy with the famous polythene bag, he came to Lagos, and he conquered.

Today, I can see how people from other tribes and regions are prospering in Lagos, we have Igbos in the legislative arm, Hausa’s working as special advisers and others, this I understand very well was Tinubu’s legacies Tinubu laid for everyone that today we call Lagos no man’s land, I could go on and on explaining how Tinubu’s generosity has benefited myself and a whole lot of my brothers, the fact is I think this gesture would please my heart.”

The debate raged on, with some defending his actions and even providing additional testimony on Tinubu’s benevolence transcending tribe and religion, while some others saw Emeka as a betrayal.
