See What Senate Did To Aishat Ahmad, Edward Adamu Who Buhari Nominated As CBN Deputy Governors

The Senate has approved the reappointment of Aishat Ndanusa-Ahmad, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, on Financial System Stability.

The Upper Chamber also approved the reappointment of the apex bank’s Deputy Governor of Corporate Services, Edward Lametek-Adamu.

President Muhammadu Buhari last Tuesday forwarded the names of Ahmad and Adamu to the Senate for screening and confirmation for reappointment for the second and final terms.

Senator Ahmad Lawan forwarded the nominations to the Senate Community on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions for review.

The confirmation of the two nominees followed the Senate’s presentation and consideration of the screening exercise report in plenary.

Following the presentation, the Senate approved recommendations urging confirmation of the nominees.

When the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, put it to a voice vote on the floor, senators approved the two nominees’ reappointment as CBN’s deputy Governors.
