See What Trump Posted On Twitter, Now X, For First Time Since 2021 After Mug Shot
Former President Donald Trump shared his police mugshot on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday after being arrested in Georgia.
This marked his return to the platform, which had been his preferred means of communication. It was his first post on X since January 2021.

The message signals the return of Trump to what had been his favorite bullhorn and his first post since several days after the insurrection at the US Capitol by an enraged mob of his supporters attempting to block Joe Biden’s certification as president. This message indicates Trump’s reentry into the platform that was once his primary outlet for communication. It comes after his absence following the US Capitol insurrection, during which his supporters attempted to obstruct the certification of Joe Biden as president.

Trump’s original Twitter account was permanently suspended by the platform in the aftermath of the January 6 riot. The suspension was due to his violation of the platform’s policy against promoting violence as he continued to push unfounded claims of election fraud.
Elon Musk, who acquired the platform in the previous year, reinstated Trump’s account in November 2022. However, Trump chose not to use the platform until now, preferring to communicate with his followers on his own platform, Truth Social, which has a smaller audience.
The post shared on Thursday showcases Trump’s mugshot, where he appears sternly facing the camera from Fulton County jail. The post also includes a link to his 2024 presidential campaign.
Above the photo, the text reads “MUG SHOT — AUGUST 24, 2023.” Below it, there are the phrases “ELECTION INTERFERENCE” and “NEVER SURRENDER.”
