Senate Panel Summons IPPIS Over Missing N113m Service Wide Votes
The Senate has summoned officials from the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) over the missing N113 million from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).
This comes as members of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts discovered irregularities in the distribution of Service Wide Votes to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
A Senate Committee is currently investigating the disbursement of N4.9 trillion in Service Wide Votes between 2017 and 2021.

While the Senate Public Accounts Committee, chaired by Senator Mathew Urhoghide, has established that the N113 million disbursed by the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) to the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) for recurrent expenditure in May 2017 was neither requested nor received by the examination body.
However, the record from the Federation’s Office of the Accountant General did not show that the N113 million was reversed to the Federation Account.
In testimony before the Senate Public Accounts Committee, the Director of Cash Management from the Ministry of Finance, Aliyu Ahmed, who represented the Permanent Secretary, stated that JAMB did not apply for the N113 million, but that a request was made on their behalf by the Ministry of Finance in 2017 and that the money was raised through Service Wide Votes.
According to him, JAMB did not request the N113 million for recurrent, but the Ministry of Finance did when we noticed the gap, and the money was not released to JAMB, but returned to IPPIS and mopped up automatically at the end of the year.
