Sensitive Electoral Materials Kept With CBN – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that sensitive electoral materials for the 2023 general elections are in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The development appears to be a reversal of the electoral body’s earlier decision to prohibit the apex bank from storing sensitive electoral materials in the wake of reports of the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, allegedly being involved in some political activities.

According to Punch, the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, INEC, Festus Okoye, revealed this during a chat on Tuesday.
According to Okoye, the commission printed and delivered the majority of the sensitive materials, such as results and ballot papers, and kept them with the CBN for distribution to the commission’s local government offices across the country.
He also stated that INEC was nearly finished delivering non-sensitive materials across the country.
