In an interview with Punch, Silva stated that men who commit such violent acts should face life imprisonment. She argued that the law must intervene in infidelity cases or the man should simply exit the marriage instead of resorting to violence.

“These men should be prosecuted and sentenced to life in prison because it’s a capital offense,” Silva expressed. “It’s absurd. Men cheat frequently; do they get killed? Do they get burned? Where’s the evidence that she cheated? What about the man involved? Does he get to walk away unscathed?”

Silva emphasized the severity of the issue, noting that even if cheating were proven, the reasonable response would be to leave the relationship or send the woman back to her parents. She highlighted a disturbing trend, stating that often the man is also guilty of infidelity, yet he resorts to murder over a single incident.

Speaking on the entertainment industry’s role in combating these killings, Silva remarked, “What more advocacy can the industry do? One of the most effective forms of advocacy is to impose consequences for unacceptable behavior. This is not just wrongful conduct; it is criminal.”
