Shock Meeting In Aso Rock! Tinubu And Atiku Reunite With Economic Titans For ‘Classified Talks’

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday held a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with key economic and financial figures including the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy

Wale Edun; the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; and the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo. According to iReporter Online, the closed-door session also included the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji.

According to iReporter Online, the agenda of the meeting was not officially disclosed. However, insiders within the Presidency hinted that the gathering was a routine briefing where officials occupying sensitive national positions update the President on developments within their respective sectors.

Each official reportedly arrived at the Villa separately for the session.

The meeting comes amid the recent passage of four new tax laws, signed by President Tinubu and scheduled to take effect from January 2026. According to iReporter Online, the FIRS Chairman was expected to provide the President with strategic updates regarding the implementation framework of these laws.

Likewise, the CBN Governor is believed to have briefed the President on current fiscal and monetary dynamics, while the Ministers of Finance and Budget & Economic Planning addressed key economic indicators and forward-looking strategies.
