According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Dave Umahi, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has brought an end to the political marginalisation of the Southeast region.

Speaking in Aba, Abia State, after inspecting several ongoing federal road construction projects, Umahi noted that the Southeast has never witnessed the level of inclusion and infrastructural development it currently enjoys under President Tinubu’s administration. He emphasized that through both appointments and development projects, the President has demonstrated his commitment to fairness, national unity, and inclusiveness.

Umahi praised the President for appointing a son of the Southeast as one of the new Service Chiefs, describing the gesture as unprecedented. He asserted that the region is now fully integrated into the mainstream of national development and that Southeast governors are actively collaborating with the federal government to ensure the region’s continued growth.

“The days of marginalisation of the Southeast are gone,” Umahi stated. “Under President Tinubu, we are getting opportunities we never had before. The Southeast now has the Minister of Works and also the Chief of Air Staff—these are clear indications that our region is no longer sidelined.”

The minister commended Abia State Governor for aligning with the federal government’s development agenda, saying the governor’s swift approach to infrastructural development reflects the region’s renewed partnership with the center. He described President Tinubu as “an infrastructure god” and “a leader divinely sent to correct Nigeria’s wrongs and restore national progress.”

Umahi further pointed to positive economic indices such as falling inflation, rising foreign reserves, and improved GDP growth as evidence of the administration’s achievements. He urged Southeast residents to remain united, support the government, and set aside divisive sentiments for the collective progress of the region.
