A family friend, Hellen Kotila, confirmed the heartbreaking news to SaharaReporters. According to her, Moshood lived in Rochdale with his wife and three children. “It’s so sad. He died while sleeping; we were neighbours in Cathays, Cardiff before they moved to another city,” Kotila shared.

In the wake of his sudden passing, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family with funeral expenses.

In a heartfelt social media post, Kotila explained, “My name is Hellen Kot, and this post is for my friend, Mrs. Olatunde Moshood, who sadly lost her husband yesterday.

‘Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With deep sorrow, I share that Mr. Akeem Ayobami Moshood passed away suddenly on Sunday, 9th February 2025, at his home in Rochdale, United Kingdom, leaving behind his wife and three young children.

I ask everyone who sees this to please pray for him. May Allah forgive his sins, grant him a place in Jannah Al-Firdous, and surround him with His mercy. The family urgently needs financial support to cover Janazah costs. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help. Thank you all.”
