President Tinubu projected a positive economic trajectory for 2025, citing achievements in 2024 such as a strengthened Naira, three consecutive quarters of foreign trade surpluses, and a drop in fuel prices.
2. Unprecedented Stock Market Growth
The Nigerian stock market experienced record-breaking growth, generating trillions in wealth. A surge in foreign investments underscored renewed confidence in the nation’s economy.
3. Inflation Reduction and Local Production Boost
The administration aims to reduce inflation from 34.6% to 15% by bolstering food production and supporting local manufacturing of essential goods, including medical supplies.
4. National Credit Guarantee Company
By Q2 2025, a National Credit Guarantee Company will launch, expanding credit access for underserved groups, including women and youth, to drive economic growth and industrialization.
5. Vision of a One-Trillion-Dollar Economy
The government’s primary goal is achieving a one-trillion-dollar economy through sustained reforms and intergovernmental collaboration, focusing on unity and development.
6. Introduction of the National Values Charter
The National Values Charter, set to debut in Q1 2025, will promote patriotism, ethical principles, and trust as part of the National Identity Project.
7. Empowering Youth through the Youth Confab
The Youth Confab will launch early this year, engaging young Nigerians in nation-building initiatives. The Ministry of Youth will oversee the selection of participants.
8. Strengthening State-Federal Collaborations
State governments are encouraged to align with federal initiatives, particularly in agriculture, tax reforms, and energy transitions, including the adoption of CNG and electric vehicles.
9. Call for Unity and Shared Goals
The President urged citizens to rise above political, ethnic, and religious divides, emphasizing collective commitment to achieving national objectives.
10. Gratitude and Assurance
Expressing gratitude for Nigerians’ sacrifices over the past 19 months, Tinubu reassured the nation of a bright future, promising that efforts and endurance will yield significant progress.
