Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her life, revealing that she lost access to her children at a very young age after marrying into a wealthy family.

According to Ireporter Online, the actress made the revelation during a recent public appearance, where she reflected on her life journey and the challenges that ultimately shaped her career in the entertainment industry.

Bukky Wright explained that the separation from her children had a profound emotional impact on her and significantly altered the course of her life. She noted that acting was not originally part of her plan, adding that she only ventured into Nollywood with the hope that her children would one day be able to identify and trace her.

She further disclosed that at the time, she struggled with feelings of despair and uncertainty about her future, believing she might not amount to much in life due to her circumstances. However, she said her story later changed as she gradually built a successful career and became a respected figure in the Nigerian film industry.

The actress said: “I wear so many caps. And to the glory of God, my scar to shine is so funny. I don’t know if I’ve ever said this before, and if I have said it, I don’t think I’ve ever said it enough. I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would be able to at least, I never thought of being a star, at least know where to find me. I am one woman who had children taken from her when they were very young because I married into a very wealthy family. And I could not think I would become anything in this life. And here I am today.”
