Things Fall Apart : Anselm Ojezua Joins The Fray Drags Ighodalo, PDP To Court Over Gubernatorial Primaries As Shaibu  Faces Impeachment

By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

In a political context, when “things fall apart,” it signifies a breakdown or crisis within a political party. This breakdown can manifest in various ways, such as internal conflicts, leadership disputes, electoral challenges, or a loss of public support. The phrase underscores the vulnerability of a political organization, emphasizing the importance of unity, strategic planning, and effective leadership to maintain stability and navigate challenges successfully…CONTINUE READING.

The notion here is that when a political party lacks cohesive and robust internal structures, it becomes susceptible to internal conflicts, external opposition, or a reduction in its political influence. This predicament characterizes the current state of the PDP, highlighted by Anslem Ojezua’s recent move to seek a court injunction on Friday at the Federal High Court, Abuja. His aim is to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP National Secretariat from acknowledging Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the official candidate of the party.

Philip Shaibu is now testing Obaseki’s patience, someone renowned for his ruthless approach in personal conflicts. Shaibu is on the verge of facing impeachment, a likely outcome given Obaseki’s track record in similar situations. Obaseki, characterized by his no-nonsense attitude, can metaphorically crush a tiny ant with a sledgehammer and incinerate it with a double-barreled gun. The Governor harbors no mercy in battles, evident in his relentless pursuit of victory. It’s not surprising that, with just around nine months or even less before his departure, Obaseki seems determined to dismantle Philip Shaibu’s political career…CONTINUE READING.
