Thousands Of PDP, NNPP Members Defect To APC In Yobe (PHOTOS)

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has received over 3500 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) who have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Upon receiving the dozens of defectors in Damaturu, Governor Buni, represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, expressed delight at the massive loss suffered by the state’s opposition parties. He did, however, assure the newcomers of equal rights and opportunities, saying that the APC believes in a united Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Gadaka, the State APC Chairman, assured the new members that the ruling party would include them in all of its activities.

While congratulating them, Gadaka urged them to rally behind the current administration’s policies and programs in the state.

He, on the other hand, wooed opposition party loyalists, stalwarts, and chieftains who are willing to defect to do so because the APC’s doors are always open.

Goni Abdullahi Baban Gomna and Umar Ali, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, said their decision was informed by the administration’s impressive performance over the last three and a half years.

The presentation of APC flags to defectors by the State Deputy Governor and State Party Chairman, Mohammad Gadaka, was the highlight of the event.
