According to Ireporter Online, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s capacity to decisively address Nigeria’s escalating security challenges. Speaking through his support organisation, BTO4BAT, during the inauguration of ward coordinators aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation for the President, Tunji-Ojo said Tinubu has demonstrated unwavering political will through sustained investment in modern security infrastructure, intelligence systems, and inter-agency cooperation.

Represented at the event by the Director General of BTO4BAT, Adesuyi Adojutelegan, the minister noted that the administration’s ongoing reforms—such as improved border control measures, better welfare for security operatives, and the deployment of advanced surveillance technology—underscore its commitment to combating kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes across the country. He maintained that although the nation’s security issues remain complex, Nigerians should expect tangible improvements in the coming months as the reforms begin to take full effect.

Tunji-Ojo also called for collective responsibility in confronting the growing trend of armed kidnappings, particularly incidents targeting schoolchildren. He explained that the launch of ward coordinators for BTO4BAT was part of a broader strategy to consolidate grassroots support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, adding that the administration’s economic policies would further translate into political gains.

Prominent APC figures at the event reaffirmed their commitment to the President’s leadership. Party chieftain Fafumilade Adetilewa insisted that the government would ultimately defeat insecurity and urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s second-term bid, saying his performance warranted renewed mandate. Kehinde Obanla, APC Chairman in Akoko North West, encouraged party members to remain united, stating that Tunji-Ojo’s achievements should reflect strongly in electoral outcomes.

One of the newly inaugurated coordinators, Suleiman Muyideen, pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts across local communities, noting that the minister’s popularity among constituents would significantly boost support for the President’s reelection campaign.
