Tinubu Showers Praise On Wike After APC’s Stunning Victory In FCT

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, asserting that his performance in the nation’s capital translated into significant political gains for the ruling All Progressives Congress.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the commendation followed Saturday’s elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory, alongside by-elections in Ahoada East II and Khana II state constituencies in Rivers State, as well as Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies in Kano State.

The APC reportedly secured victories in the majority of the positions contested during the polls. The President congratulated the party’s national leadership, as well as its Kano and Rivers State chapters, for the outcomes recorded at the ballot. He also applauded INEC, security agencies and voters for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.

The statement noted that President Tinubu described Wike’s developmental strides in the FCT as instrumental in boosting the party’s fortunes, adding that the achievements had yielded tangible political dividends.

The President further urged those elected to regard their mandates as a sacred trust and to discharge their responsibilities with humility, patriotism and dedication. He commended all contestants for demonstrating courage and discipline throughout the electoral process, emphasizing that democratic growth is strengthened by active participation and healthy competition.

While reaffirming his confidence in the nation’s democratic institutions, Tinubu encouraged INEC to build on the successes recorded and continue refining its processes to deliver even more exemplary elections in the future.
