“Tinubu’s Mid-Term Scorecard Goes Public As FG Flags Off South-South Campaign”
The Federal Government on Tuesday launched a national sensitisation campaign to showcase the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration after two years in office, according to IReporter Online.
The initiative, themed ‘Tinubu Administration’s Mid-Term Report’, was flagged off in Port Harcourt by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
He emphasized that the Federal Government had made notable investments across the South-South region since 2023.
Mr. Idris explained that the campaign aims to inform residents in the South-South zone about ongoing and completed federal projects in their communities. He noted that Edo and Delta states, among others, have seen visible development driven by various initiatives under the current administration.
“The Tinubu-led administration has initiated and completed several people-centered projects in the South-South, with many more currently underway,” the minister said.
He highlighted programmes such as the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprise – Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he said have directly impacted thousands of residents.
“This sensitisation is also designed to encourage citizens to understand, engage with, and support government policies in their communities rather than just criticize,” according to IReporter Online.
Helen Nsirim, spokesperson for the ministry, outlined key government achievements in the region, disclosing that N500 million was disbursed to nearly 1,800 farmers in Edo State under the LIFE-ND programme.
She added that the initiative is operational in eight other states including Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Abia, Imo, and Ondo.
The LIFE-ND programme, she explained, is jointly funded by the Federal Government, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
It targets women-headed households, youths, and persons with disabilities, equipping them with agricultural skills and resources.
In addition to LIFE-ND, she noted that the federal government has rolled out other impactful schemes such as the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme, the Three Million Technical Talent programme, the Bank of Industry’s low-interest loans for micro-enterprises, and the Student Loan Scheme.
Nsirim also highlighted the massive Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, which will cut across several South-South states including Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River.
According to IReporter Online, the administration’s infrastructural push and social investment programmes are already delivering tangible benefits in the region.
She urged residents to take advantage of programmes like the cash transfer scheme, the student loan fund, and housing opportunities, describing them as platforms to improve lives and uplift communities.
“These are not just policies on paper. They are real opportunities to transform our communities,” she said.
According to IReporter Online, similar sensitisation events are expected to hold across other geopolitical zones in the coming months.
