According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has stated that raw talent alone is not enough to guarantee success in the music industry, stressing the importance of access, structure, and industry knowledge for emerging creatives.

The 46-year-old singer made this known while speaking about her Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, an initiative designed to empower young African talents and expand their understanding of opportunities within the music business. She explained that while music transformed her life, many aspiring artists remain limited by lack of access to resources and guidance. “Music changed my life but talent alone isn’t enough especially when access is limited,” she said, adding that her goal is to expose young creatives to the broader possibilities within the industry.

Savage further noted that her mission goes beyond developing performers, as she intends to build future industry leaders. “I don’t just want to launch artists; I want to build leaders, producers, executives and owners who will shape the future of the music industry,” she said, adding that beneficiaries of the programme should eventually become mentors and industry professionals who reinvest in the next generation.

As part of the initiative, Savage is set to host a grand finale concert on April 26 for over 100 participants who graduated from her music foundation in collaboration with Berklee College of Music. The event will hold at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, with entertainment figures Darey Art Alade and Kie Kie billed to host the ceremony.
