According to Ireporter Online, a heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in Zaria, Kaduna State, as Hadiza Musa, the Deputy Head of the Maternity Unit at Gambo Sawaba General Hospital, lost her life while reportedly resisting phone snatchers.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the incident occurred on Saturday evening in Filin Mallawa, Tudun Wada, Zaria, shortly after the nurse had visited a salon and an Islamic chemist.

Her husband, Hamza Ibrahim Idris, who resides in Abuja, recounted that his last conversation with her was around 6 p.m., after she left the chemist. “After transferring some money to her, that was the last time we spoke. I tried calling later that night but couldn’t reach her, assuming her phone battery had run down,” he explained with deep sorrow.

Idris disclosed that his wife boarded a commercial motorcycle around 6:30 p.m. when she was ambushed by the assailants. “Her hands showed signs of struggle, indicating she resisted the attackers. They hit her severely on the head, causing fatal injuries that I believe led to her death,” he lamented.

A good Samaritan later found her unconscious and rushed her to a nearby clinic, from where she was transferred to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
