Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI have neutralized ten terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a clearance operation in Manawaji, close to the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the operation was part of intensified offensives aimed at clearing ISWAP and Boko Haram elements from the North East.

According to him, the troops conducted the operation between Rann and Gamboru Ngala in Borno State, where they encountered the terrorists and engaged them in a firefight, successfully eliminating ten fighters who had been troubling the peace of the area.

The operation also led to the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition, including anti-aircraft rounds suspected to have been looted during previous attacks on Cameroonian security forces across the border.

Kovangiya praised the troops for their resilience and assured that the military would continue to deny terrorists freedom of action while sustaining aggressive operations to restore lasting peace across the entire North East.
