Managing Director and CEO, Oliver Alawuba, during a farewell dinner held in honor of the bank’s retired non-executive directors in Abuja.
Alawuba highlighted UBA’s impressive reach, with over 25,000 employees serving more than 45 million customers across 24 countries. He expressed confidence in the bank’s continued growth, noting that UBA’s expansion into Saudi Arabia would be a significant milestone. He also mentioned the addition of more African subsidiaries to strengthen UBA’s global presence.
UBA Chairman Tony Elumelu praised the retired directors for their dedicated service and acknowledged their pivotal role in the bank’s success across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond. Elumelu emphasized that UBA is not just a financial institution but a family, and the retired directors’ selflessness and commitment were instrumental to the bank’s accomplishments.
In a heartfelt tribute, one of the retirees, Kayode Fashola, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and his colleagues, which enabled them to contribute to the bank’s efficient service delivery.
This move aligns with UBA’s vision to continue growing and providing financial services that contribute to economic development globally.
