“Together, we will build the Nigeria of our dreams. The New Year brings us closer to a future filled with opportunity and progress,” Tinubu remarked, emphasizing that despite the challenges of 2024, the outlook for 2025 is promising. He highlighted key economic advancements, including a significant decrease in fuel prices, consecutive foreign trade surpluses, a surge in foreign reserves, and a stronger Naira—all pointing to a nation on the path to greater stability.
Tinubu further affirmed that his administration is committed to reducing inflation, currently at 34.6%, to 15% by the year’s end, ensuring relief for Nigerian households. The President also unveiled plans to launch a National Credit Guarantee Company to boost access to credit and promote national economic growth.
With an eye on the future, Tinubu pledged to continue his efforts in reforming the nation’s economy, fostering youth inclusivity, and encouraging collaboration among Nigerians of all backgrounds.
Additionally, the President emphasized the importance of collective national values and ethical principles in achieving sustainable growth. A National Values Charter will soon be launched to promote patriotism and unity across the country, reinforcing the foundation for progress and shared prosperity.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, also extended his best wishes for the New Year, urging Nigerians to maintain hope and support the leadership’s efforts toward national improvement.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar added his voice to the message of hope, calling for a renewed focus on good governance and accountability. He emphasized the need for Nigerians to be vigilant and united, ensuring that their leaders remain accountable and committed to the nation’s well-being.
In a similar vein, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and leaders across Nigeria’s states echoed optimism, urging citizens to look ahead to the endless possibilities of 2025 with renewed hope and resolve.
As Nigeria enters this New Year, the call for unity, resilience, and commitment to nation-building has never been more critical. With a shared vision and concerted effort, 2025 holds the potential for unprecedented growth and prosperity for the nation.
