The company, a longstanding leader in the country’s transportation sector for over 45 years, also lauded President Bola Tinubu for his generous initiative to reduce inter-state luxury bus fares by 50% for the season. This significant gesture, according to Chisco, is set to make long-distance travel more accessible to Nigerians, greatly enhancing connectivity within the country.
With the aim of expanding its reach, Chisco has recently launched four new branches in key locations such as Awka, Enugu, and Lagos’s Okota Road. These additions are expected to improve service delivery, particularly during the bustling holiday season.
“We are committed to offering the best possible experience for our customers,” said Mr. Buchi Ochuba, Head of Business Operations at Chisco Transport. “As part of our ongoing effort to enhance travel comfort and safety, we have deployed brand-new luxury and mini-buses equipped with the latest technological innovations.”
The new fleet includes state-of-the-art vehicles that feature real-time GPS tracking and advanced safety systems, ensuring passengers’ journeys are both comfortable and secure. In addition to expanding its fleet, Chisco Transport has undertaken extensive maintenance of its existing buses to guarantee their optimal performance for both local and international routes, including Lagos-Cotonou-Lome-Accra.
Ochuba highlighted that the company’s dedication to top-notch service would not only continue throughout the holiday season but also extend into the new year, ensuring safe and enjoyable return trips for travelers.
“We are proud to be recognized by the Nigeria Automobile Journalists Association (NAJA) as the Transport Company of the Year. This honor reflects our commitment to excellence, from our modern fleet to our customer loyalty programs,” Ochuba stated.
In recognition of the President’s actions, the company commended his vision for enhancing infrastructure in the transportation sector, especially through the significant allocations in the 2025 budget.
Chisco also took the opportunity to address the recent surge in travel fares, explaining that rising fuel prices and maintenance costs have led to the increase. However, they reassured the public that they remain dedicated to providing affordable travel options, especially with the 50% fare discount introduced by the President.
