Police operatives in Cross River State have arrested 60 people, including traders at Watt Market in Calabar, following the alleged assault of a police constable.

According to reports, the suspects were arrested on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, after the officer was allegedly attacked while attempting to impound a motorcycle at Goldie by Etim Edem Lane in Calabar.

The incident reportedly began after the motorcycle accidentally stepped on the constable’s leg while he was on duty on September 11. The rider allegedly fled when the officer attempted to impound the motorcycle.
