Video: Dangote Opens Up On Highest Money He Has Ever Made In One Year
According to Ireporter Online, Africa’s richest man and industrialist, Aliko Dangote, has revealed the highest amount of money he has ever earned within a single year, stating that he made about $10 billion in just the first quarter of the year.
The billionaire made the disclosure during an interview with James Dumoulin of The School of Hard Knocks, where he was asked about his most significant annual earnings. In his response, Dangote noted that the figure was achieved within a short period, saying, “First quarter, we did about $10 billion.”
He also addressed questions regarding his estimated net worth, which is placed at $38 billion by Forbes, suggesting that the valuation may not fully reflect his actual wealth due to some of his companies not being publicly listed. According to him, the true value of his business empire could be significantly higher.
When asked how he would like to be remembered, Dangote stated that his legacy goal is to be recognized for transforming the continent’s industrial landscape, saying he hopes to be remembered as someone who industrialised Africa.
In a related development, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced fresh reductions in the prices of key petroleum products, including diesel and aviation fuel. The refinery slashed the price of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) by ₦100 per litre, bringing it down from ₦1,700 to ₦1,600, while Aviation Turbine Kerosene dropped from ₦1,550 to ₦1,450 per litre.
This adjustment comes shortly after a ₦75 reduction in the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), which moved from ₦1,250 to ₦1,175 per litre. The price changes have been linked to a decline in global crude oil prices amid easing geopolitical tensions.
Meanwhile, petroleum marketers have projected that petrol prices could further drop to around ₦1,200 per litre following reduced ex-depot rates. However, many filling stations are yet to reflect the changes, as they continue to sell at higher rates due to existing stock purchased before the recent price adjustments.
