Violence In Abeokuta: Driver’s Death Leads To Arrest Of Two Suspects

According to reports, the incident occurred on the night of December 13, 2024, around 2:00 AM, when a confrontation took place in front of a residence in Iyana Ikereku. A witness, Alao Fadipe, reported seeing a physical struggle between truck driver Olalere Timileyin, his motor-boy, and another man who was accused of stealing their tarpaulin. The altercation escalated, and the accused was reportedly beaten into unconsciousness.

Police investigators from Obada Oko swiftly responded to the scene and apprehended both the driver and his motor-boy. The injured man was rushed to State Hospital Ijaye for treatment, but tragically, he passed away during care. His body has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy.

The suspects are currently under questioning as efforts continue to reach the victim’s family. The case is set to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran for further investigation.
