Umahi’s Aide Blasts Obidient Movement, Issues Strong Warning

The media aide to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, Francis Nwaze, has cautioned individuals making allegations against the minister to back their claims with credible evidence, insisting that accusations without proof should not be entertained.

According to Ireporter Online, Nwaze’s reaction follows widespread allegations surrounding the death of 26-year-old physiotherapist, Mary Habila, who was reportedly found dead under circumstances that have generated public concern and intense debate.

The incident has triggered growing demands from Nigerians and civil society groups for an independent investigation to determine the exact circumstances of Habila’s death. Calls for transparency intensified after activists and other concerned stakeholders intervened to halt her planned burial, insisting that an autopsy be conducted before she is laid to rest.

Responding to the controversy in a statement shared on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday night, Nwaze dismissed the allegations against Umahi as unsubstantiated and suggested that political interests could be driving the narrative.

He stressed that anyone making accusations has a responsibility to provide verifiable evidence, adding that political affiliation or membership of any movement does not exempt individuals from the obligation to tell the truth.

Nwaze further maintained that belonging to the Obidient Movement or allegedly acting on behalf of political interests does not shield anyone from the duty to substantiate claims, emphasizing that every allegation must be supported by credible proof.
