We Have Recovered Over N30bn From Suspended AG, Ahmed Idris – EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stated that it recovered over 30 billion naira out of the 109 billion naira alleged to have been fraudulently amassed by the federation’s suspended Accountant General, Ahmed Idris.
Abdulrasheed Bawa, Chairman of the EFCC, revealed this today at the State House’s weekly ministerial briefing.

In response to a question about the commission’s independence, the EFCC chief stated that high-profile individuals and government agencies across the board, including the EFCC, have been investigated, demonstrating the government’s successful anti-corruption drive.
He stated that, over the next two to three years, a Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) would make it difficult for Nigerians to launder criminal proceeds.
He also stated that by the end of the year, the commission will publish nationwide auction real estate listings in 15 locations across the country in order to dispose of over 150 forfeited flats and apartments.
