When I Become The Governor Of Edo State – Adolphus Arebanmhen Aletor (Triple A)
Business philanthropist and Banking magnate, Adolphus Arebanmhen Aletor in an address made available to the press has made some clarifications on what he intends in bringing to the Edo people, when he eventually becomes the governor of the state.
In his address, he extolled the good people of Edo for their resilience and hardwork towards making the state what it is today. Adolphus made this disclosure as he believes that the state is called a state because of the people, because the people is what forms the state at large. This clarification he hinged on the grounds of Democracy, as the government is for the people and should be ran by the people. He enjoined the people of the state not to stop believing in the state and to always get involved in the decision making processes so as to ensure that power is assumed on the grounds of competence and not otherwise.
Furthermore, the Banker made some further clarifications as he presented some of the program he plans on bringing to the state. In his words: “I cannot claim to be a Messiah, but it’s up to Edo people to see me as one. I have a sound understanding of the problems facing us as a state because I was born here, schooled here, worked here and have relatives and friends here. I don’t think I need lectures to know what should be done to better the life of our people”.
“There are thousands of school dropout children all over the streets of Edo state roaming. Their vulnerability have now being exploited by some people elements who take them in and exploit their weaknesses for their own personal gains. I believe things shouldn’t be this way.
“Our educational sector has almost become a farcical craft, made by a novice apprentice. Children now have to learn by themselves, whereas teachers are supposed to do that. Where are the teachers who are supposed to teach them? Only God knows! Schools are in dilapidated form, no libraries to foster education, teachers are owed salaries. The only key motivation to aid them to teach is beyond their reach. The issues in the state just keep compounding.
“We can’t continue to list the issues in the state, as there is no perfect state for sure. But I believe that if a place is not getting any better, then it should not get any worse. I believe that it’s in a leader’s capacity to make an aggravating situation get better. And that’s what I Adolphus represent, a better environment, prosperous economy, infrastructural development, safety of persons and property, and restoring back our lost glory.
“I commend the efforts of the present administration in the state so far, as it’s one that deserves mentioning. Come 2024, we only hope that things get better.
However, in the closing remarks of the Mr Adolphus, he solicited and urged the good people of Edo to support and nominate him to become the next governor of the state. As he doesn’t only know the problems at hand, but he has also come with the solution to avail the good people of Edo State a good life.
