not for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He expressed his commitment to enhancing the capital city through improved access roads.

During a flag-off ceremony for the construction of an access road leading to the new EFCC academy in Giri District, Abuja, Wike dismissed claims that the roads were being built for the EFCC’s benefit. He explained that the new roads would aid in developing the real estate sector, improve access to agricultural markets, and help decongest the city center of Abuja.

Wike pointed out that many areas of the FCT remain undeveloped due to inadequate access roads. He stated, “With the access road, everybody will come and develop, and that is what we are looking for to decongest the city.”

He further highlighted the benefits to the local community, stating, “People will now build houses, and farmers will bring their produce to the city. That is the whole essence of opening up everywhere.”

Wike concluded, “So, let it not be said that we are building roads for the EFCC. We are building roads to open access and develop areas, and they are just one of the beneficiaries.”
