Bandit Kingpin Turji Bello Captured One Of Army’s Armoured Vehicle? – Fact Emerge

The Nigerian Army has reacted to claims that bandit leader Turji Bello captured one of its Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs).

The denial comes in response to a viral video circulating on social media, which purportedly shows the bandit leader with a captured APC that belongs to the army.

Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, issued a statement on Thursday, categorically stating that the video is false and fabricated. According to the statement, the video was analyzed by the army and found to be doctored.

The statement clarified that Nigerian Army vehicles, including APCs, have “NA” inscribed on their number plates, which is conspicuously absent in the supposedly captured APC shown in the video.

The events depicted in the video were also determined not to have occurred within Nigeria but rather in Burkina Faso in 2021, based on available data and investigation.

Brigadier General Nwachukwu emphasized the army’s commitment to safeguarding its equipment with professionalism and vigilance. He cautioned the public against misinformation and propaganda disseminated by insurgents to incite fear and disrupt national peace and security.
